Day 1 - Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis (Omnicentric)

Hello There. Day 1 today of Tracy Anderson's "Metamorphosis" program. It's a 90 day program and you can watch the video below if you want to know more about it :)

I choose to do the omincentric program because I need to tone up EVERYWHERE post baby. I gained 65 pounds (ekk) during my pregnancy with my son and since he was born in April I've lost half of that weight. Which means I have 30 pounds at LEAST that I want to loose.

Day 1 work outs I did first thing this morning. I decided to do the Cardio work out first which was 30 minutes long and I looked so ridiculous doing it. I swear I looked like a drunk person trying to river dance. I did get a good sweat though and I think I burned a decent amount of calories. I did have to stop about 3 times to take care of the baby. I managed to finish it though and moved straight on to Day 1, Disc 1 of the program. You do the same work out for 10 days before you move on to the next disc.

The arm work out was great, I loved the burn. The ab work out was tough, my abs just not the same post pregnancy, I'm hoping this program really helps shrink my mid section and tone it up. The floor work... well that was the painful part. My sciatic nerve was really acting up and I could only do about half the reps on each leg. I got through it though!

My eating has been very clean today. I am eating 90% vegan, 10% vegetarian. I'm trying to stay away from the salt and no processed foods. I plan to use a lot of the recipes from Tracy's program, just not follow it to the T.

This morning I had a shakeology for breakfast and for lunch I made the Veggie Protein soup from her nutritional guide.

Not sure whats on the menu for dinner tonight. I can already feel the soreness in my body. I'm really hoping that by the end of the 90 days I am back in some of my pre pregnancy jeans/clothes. That's the goal.

I weighed myself, took my measurements and before pics today. Won't be posting those yet, maybe after the first 30 days when I get some progress.

Forks Over Knives

Tonight I put on a documentary I've been wanting to watch for awhile now... I had no intentions of watching it with anyone but myself. Well and my 7 month old son, but he was more entertained by his toy hammer.

My Husband ended up watching it with me... my Husband that LOVES his Cheeseburgers and Peperoni pizza.

And he said he wanted to try this.

a Plant based diet.

That made me so happy and excited.

Now I want to go out and buy this DVD for all my family and friends to see.

It's that good.

So if you haven't checked it out yet, I recommend you do. It's available on Netflix if you have instant view.

Potato-Asparagus Soup

Last night I took out one of my favorite Vegan cookbooks in search of  recipe for Asparagus, which I happened to have a lot of. It was a rather rainy day, and cold and this recipe sounded like it would hit the spot.

And it did.

Thank you Isa Chandra Moskowitz and your fabulous book "Vegan with a Vengeance". (pg.99)

I followed the recipe exactly, and loved the taste. The fresh lemon juice and the dill sprinkled on the top was a great way to complete the recipe.I'm a girl that enjoys a little kick so I added a dash more of pepper and then it was perfection.

I will be making this soup again for sure.

The Hubster went over to his friends house to watch the fights last night. So it was just me and my little guy snuggling it up by the fire. Perfect way to spend a Saturday night if you ask me.

11.11.11 Make a Wish

If I had to make a wish on this day it would be…

To enjoy every second of the day I have with my son, even when he’s having an off day and won’t stop crying.

To make sure my husband knows I’m as crazy head over heels in love with him as I was at 16.

To take time for myself, and to dig deep to find the motivation I once had to be fit and healthy.

To love with my whole heart and to live my life out with no regrets.

Happy 11.11.11 everyone.

Crock Pot Magic

Mmmmm… Deliciousness

I had veggies in my fridge that needed to be eaten before they went bad. Threw them all in the crock pot…Bok choy, potato, celery, onion, garlic, cabbage.. Add a little veggie broth, spiral noodles and salt and pepper. I blended half the soup mix after it was done cooking and poured it back in the pot.

My house smells amazing now and my stomach is happy.

I'm in desperate need of motivation

I am in desprate need of motivation. I’ve lost 45 pounds before, why is it so hard to lose these last 30 pregnancy pounds? I’ll tell you why, I have a baby I’m taking for 24/7 along with a house, a husband, and a large family, Church and other functions.
Regardless of all of that I can MAKE time, I just have to stick with it and watch what I put in my mouth. I MUST do this. So I’m going to say it right here to hold myself accountable. I will lose 15 pounds by the end of this year (7 weeks). That’s half the weight left to lose, and then I can go into 2012 feeling like I was productive and push hard to loose the rest before little man’s 1st birthday in April.
I CAN DO THIS.
